The Wasatch County Board of Health consists of volunteer members appointed by the various governing entities located within the county boundaries.

The Board of Health meets monthly with representatives of all divisions and programs of the health department. At these meetings, members of the Board are presented with information about the health department's on-going activities and provide direction to staff and administration.

The responsibilities of the Board of Health include (but are not limited to):

• Recruitment, appointment, and evaluation of the Health Director
• Establishment, implementation, and update personnel and fiscal policies of the health department
• Promulgation and adoption of regulations and policies to protect the health and safety of residents
• Development of an Annual Report that includes financial and statistical information
• Adoption of an annual budget
