The Wasatch County Medical Reserve Corps (WCMRC) is a unit of the national Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) program. MRC units are groups of medical professionals and others who can supplement local public health departments, hospitals, and emergency medical systems when they are overwhelmed. They can also help promote disease prevention, improve health literacy, and support other public health campaigns as needed.
The MRC program allows emergency response agencies to use volunteers that are pre-identified, pre-credentialed, pre-trained, and prepared to respond so valuable time isn't wasted doing those things when their help is needed most.
