Being ready for a disaster or other public health emergency can be difficult. It cannot be predicted when or where one of these events may occur; however, certain steps can be taken to be better prepared. 1) Assembling a
disaster supply kit, 2) developing a
personal and/or family disaster plan, and 3) staying
informed of potential disasters are the key steps in preparing for emergency situations. During emergency situations, staying calm and using common sense are always the best defense.
Below are resources to help you take the key steps and become prepared. These resources include: "It's a Disaster" preparedness manual, Your Family Disaster Plan brochure, Your Family Disaster Supply Kit brochure, and more.
