Public drinking water is regulated by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) in Utah creates and enforces the Drinking Water rule. Wasatch County Environmental Health conducts routine sanitary surveys on all public water systems within the county. Investigative bacteriological samples of public systems are also submitted to the State Laboratories for analysis by the Wasatch County Health Department. Private drinking water systems, such as wells, are not regulated, but are still very important to those that use them.
Water Sample Schedule:
Wasatch County Health Department takes water samples to the State Laboratory every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month as a service to the various systems.
