(CHEC) Child Health Evaluation and Care:
CHEC is a Medicaid benefit for children. It has two parts Prevention and Expanded Services.
Prevention
Well-child visits allow the doctor to check your child's growth and development.  IF there is a problem, the doctor can find it before it becomes more serious.  The doctor can tell you about what to expect and answer questions about your child's health. The CHEC program will help you get the well-child care your child needs.
Expanded Services
If your doctor feels your child needs extra care, your child may receive the care even if it is not a Medicaid benefit.  Any added care your child needs that is medically necessary can be covered by Medicaid through the CHEC program.
