Disease Prevention

Diseases that are required by law as reportable diseases are tracked and a follow-up investigation is given as needed.  Chronic diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB) are treated with proper medication and followed up on a monthly basis.  Outreach contracts have been established with Smith’s pharmacy for the distribution of medication for those in need.

Diabetes Pilot Program

Are you or someone you know a diabetic?

The Wasatch County Health Department is conducting a pilot program with individuals who have any type of diabetes. This pilot program is designed to help those with diabetes understand and manage the disease better.

Participants in the program will recieve

  • Testing and Follow up
  • Coaching
  • Cooking Classes
  • Fitness Passes

The program is FREE and is open to anyone age 18 and over. If you would like to participate in the pilot program contact Truday Brereton at 435-657-3312.

Also part of this study is a survey to help the WCHD identify needs and resources of Wasatch County. To take the survey please call Sheryl. 


Dining with Diabetes

Try some new diabetic recipes that are good for you and your family! Join Us! 

"Dining with Diabetes" begins January 2013.

  • Sample Diabetic Meals 
  • Recipe Demonstartion/Instruction 
  • Meet, Greet, and Mingle with others 

People with diabetes and family members are welcome. 

The Health Department is teaming up with Utah State Univeristy Extension Services to offer this course. Begining in January this course will run once a month for four months.
